there might be lots of typos in this post, so bear with me =)

2 days back was prom night..well in the morning, me, dom and jonny met at dom's house to have a few last practices of our song, "a few short years" - which was originally a yellowcard song called "one year, six months" - before going to hilton to have our rehearsal cum audition session at the "grand ballroom". after that dom went to get his hair dye, leaving me and jonny in his house. we collected our rented equipments 10 mins after jonny called mike. we then proceeded to the 3rd level to wait for the doors of the ballroom to be opened. me and jonny waited at the lift lobby for quite awhile as dom went to get his hair dyed. at around 1pm, we were then allowed to go in to the ballroom to have our rehearsals. the other groups of contestants were pretty much gearing up for their part of macpherson idol too. the judges were quite impressed with our performance. like what jonny mentioned, they looked at each other as if they were hinting to each other that our chorus part was impressive. time flew by fast at it was about 5.30pm, we were at denise's hotel room changing into our prom suits as the prom starts at 6.30pm. after everyone had finished, we went down to the grand ballroom. there were so many peeps already waiting to get the prom started. we had our sound check as quickly as possible, but musta'in broke one of his violin string when he was tuning his instrument. this was a bad time to break something like that, he then rushed to yamaha music @ plaza singapura. we continued with our sound check and then went out to wait for musta'in to return. by the time he came back, prom had already started and there was a buffet for everyone. musta'in and jonny were tuning against each other's instrument when mus's violin string broke again. this time dom sponsored cab fare for mus to get his violin string again. lucky for us, our performance was at 9.30pm. our turn came and the crowd were cheering in full support for us. we were quite tense and excited to win the grand prize of $500..............................................................................................................borders vouchers. we started well only till the verse, where i couldn't hear jonny's guitar parts. everything was in a mess, i have to admit. even i could hear that something has gone wrong. mus's violin was not close enough to the microphone and the violin parts didn't came off which was quite important as it brings emotions to the song. but nonetheless, we finished our performance with a loud and bursting cheers of "we love werd" and deafening claps of apprieciation. although it seems to them that we did a perfect performance, it was a total no effort performance. next was a performance by another group of girls which were starting off well when jonny accidentally tripped on the power supply of the sound consoles. but the group were given another chance to sing again though. after them it was alex. he was doing some rap that didn't really came off well, as he was literally singing a lil bit on the verse and then leaving it for the cd to cover up for him. he also tried to get the crowd to sing though it didn't really work out well. that's why he got the consolation prize. and guess what we won the grand prize, although we were quite disappointed. before we were announced the winners, our faces were covered with dismay and sure-to-lose expressions. even when our name was called we couldn't believe it, especially jonny. but the fact is we won, macpherson idols 2004! after the prize presentation, the dj started spinning some tracks of pop, techno, and hip-hop music. i didn't join the crazy crowd grooving to the music, but instead went outside to check out some neighbours who were also not interested in the disco part. i wasn't alone, but with kenneth. we were given a great view of the neighbours. they were taking photos with their mates, man i spotted one neighbour who was supeeeeeeer dupeeeeeer hot. how i wish i had taken a photo with her. =( at 11pm, the disco thingy had to end as we started to sing auld lang syne to bid farewell to everyone especially, mr. subra who was leaving the school already. no one had tears in their eyes before and after the song. at the end of the night, i wished that i could spent sometime out before going back home but we couldn't leave dom's dad all by himself to clear the equipments and stuff. but it's alright as there are so many more months before the day of getting my o level results back. overall it was a night not to be forgotten by me...

“prom nite!”
